Canada is a North American country consisting of 10 provinces and 3 territories. It is bordered on the West by the Pacific Ocean and Alaska, on the North by the Arctic Ocean, on the East by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the South by the United States of America.

Canada is the second largest country in the world by total area, after Russia. The border it shares with the United States is the longest land border in the world.

Census Records: Library and Archives Canada (LAC) Website. All of the Canadian censuses are available free on the Library and Archives Canada (LAC) Website, though the search is not very good (you need the exact spelling of the name). (Note: the LAC site does permit the use of the * wildcard, so you can, for example, enter "Smith*" to find "Smith", "Smithe", etc.) What I often do is search the index on Familysearch.org, find the way the name was spelled, and then find it on the LAC site.
