Members of Parlament or (MP) are elected by eligable voters to represent their federal electoral districts, or ridings. Each elected member occupies a seat - currently, (2015), there are 308 seats in the House of Commons also known as the lower house.
Based on census returns the ridings boundaries may be reorganised to improve per capita representation. Each province is guaranteed at least as many MPs as it has senators.
This category is sub-divided by each province and territory.
