Douglas Richardson provides an Appendix to the 5th Volume of Royal Ancestry which provides five documented lines of Descent from Charlemagne to William the Conqueror or to his wife Maud. One of these is actually to William the Conqueror and the other four are actually lines of descent to Maud.
