Chubut is a province of Argentina which stretches from the Atlantic to the Andes with 3 distinct environmental regions:-

The Andes,
The central plains and
The coastal regions.
It has an area of 225,000 sq km.

It is named after the River Chubut which rises in the Andes and eventually enters the Atlantic.
Many of the place names refer to the Upper Valley, or the Lower Valley. The former borders the Andes and the latter runs down to the coast.
There are two official languages in the province, Spanish and Welsh. The latter because it was where Welsh émigrés settled in the mid 19th century.
