The voyage of the ship Comte de Paris to New Zealand in 1840
Previously the ship Le Mahé - bought by the Nanto-Bordelaise Company to convey French settlers led by Captain Jean-François Langlois to Akaroa, Canterbury, New Zealand.
The Le Mahé was refitted at Rochefort for the voyage to New Zealand and renamed Comte de Paris.
Sailed from Rochefort, Charente-Maritime 19th March 1840 - arrived in Akaroa 13th August 1840.
