Cyrus of Dundee or Cyrus of Glasgow

Cyrus of Dundee

CYRUS, a '178 ton brig, master George Scott, from Dundee in March 1834 bound for Montreal and Quebec, arrived there during May 1834 with 33 passengers from Dundee.[1]
Alexander Barker, James Latto, William Chalmers and Alexander Laing with their families left Leven, Scotland, in March 1834 on the ship "Cyrus of Dundee." They sailed around the north of Scotland, after being delayed by storms at the mouth of the Moray Frith. After a rough voyage of 12 weeks, in which they saw no sail, they reached the mouth of the Stl Lawrence, where they were detained a week by floating ice, and finally reached Montreal[2]

Cyrus of Glasgow

William Chalmers and his wife and five c., and Alexander Barker and family, came to America in the ship "Cyrus of Glasgow," 1834.[3]
On April 10/11th 1835 William (Chalmers), Isabella and five of their children joined 33 settlers on the ship "Cyrus of Glasgow" which left Scotland from Leith (port of Edinburgh). It was believed that Isabella's parents, and Alexander Barkers, were on the same ship.[4]
