When WikiTree imports a Gedcom, it imports "stuff" that is internal to the individual genealogy software being used. Wikipedia informs that that "stuff" is called "cruft." It is "left over, redundant and getting in the way." For instance gedcoms from software import an ID number. That ID number is not important to other researchers.
This page has information on how to edit GEDCOM created biographies.
If you clean up a profile from the Gedcom import, please remove the tag! Many thanks.
