Doctor of Divinity is an advanced or honorary academic degree in divinity. Doctor of Divinity should not be confused with the Doctor of Theology (ThD) degree, which is a research doctorate in theology awarded by universities and divinity schools, or the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree which is a professional doctorate-level religious degree. May be abbreviated to D.D. or DDiv.
