Here is list of Douglases who have known ancestral lines back to the first Douglas. These people are people that I feel might help smash brick walls as they might be the ancestor of the brick walls. It will be updated as more facts are found. In some cases, only their baptismal date is known.

These sons of John Douglas, and are directly descended from Archibald Douglas, 5th Earl of Angus.

  7. Robert Douglas of Cruckstown and Brockhouse - descendant of John Douglas, he had many children and grandchildren which need to be investigated.
  8. Rev. James Douglas, Minister of Stow - probably had no children, but that is not known for certain.

  1. Archibald Douglas of Cashogle - A descendant of Sir James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Douglas and Mar, he had 12 sons, but only one of them is known.
  1. John Douglas - A descendant of Sir William Douglas, 4th Lord of Drumlanrig, he is one of the family of Douglas of Cashogle. It is known he had at least 3 descendants in the male line, as James Douglas is mentioned as his great-grandson. It is likely he has many more descendants.
