A large number of Dutch Immigrated to British Columbia and formed Dutch speaking communities in The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (Smithers, Vanderhoof, Houston, Telkwa) and Lower Mainland (Steveston, Vancouver, Surrey, Pitt Meadows). Only now is the 2nd and 3rd generation born to these families starting to marry in to non Dutch families.
