One of the goals of the Cemeterist Project is to document the final resting place of our ancestors by placing cemetery categories on ancestor profiles.

Unfortunately, many cemeteries are no longer in physical existence. The cemeteries documented through this category structure may be mentioned in contemporary records or other available sources of the time period; however due to circumstances and the passage of time, the burial grounds and the interments have been lost due to land development, reconstruction, or naturally occurring causes and the gravesites were not reinterred to another location.
