Category: Historical Satakunta
The historical province of Satakunta (Satakunda), or the Kokemäki Castle slottslän (castle fief, Kumogårds län), covered the modern-day region of Satakunta, most of Pirkanmaa and also small areas of Southern Ostrobothnia, Central Finland and Finland Proper.
It was bordered by the Gulf of Bothnia and the historical provinces of Ostrobothnia, Tavastia and Finland Proper.
The historical provinces of Satakunta and Finland Proper were merged into Turku province (län, fief), later Turku and Pori province, in 1634.
Farmers in Historical Satakunta region are coordinated in project FI_Satakunta_Farmers.
