According to tradition, a family originally of Norwegian origin, who received confirmation of their nobility at the Swedish House of Nobility (Riddarhuset) 1652-01-20 and were introduced into the Swedish nobility as Bagghufvud nr 755 in 1668.
The House is still alive in large numbers in Russia and Estonia, established in Estonia House of Nobility as Baggehufwudt No. 76. In Russia, the family uses von Baggo and von Bagowut.
