Stenkil, the first of the house of Stenkil, claimed the rights to the crown through his relations with the House of Munsö and the fact that he was married to the daughter of the former king Emund the old.
Not all of the kings during this era were related to Stenkil as far as it is known. One of the Eriks after Stenkil was probably his son but Anund Gårdske and Håkan Röde have no proven relations. Blot-Sven on the other hand was married to a sister of Inge den äldre.
