Indonesian music has a long tradition. The many tribes of Indonesia have their own instruments, rhythms, scales and styles. The best known of these are the ones associated with the gamelan music of Java and Bali and the angklung music of Sunda. But there is so much more to traditional music. Then there are the modern styles, some of which follow western trends, while others fuse modern western, Portuguese or Arabic music with traditional styles to create something unique.
