John Earle, his wife Mary and three children, Samuel, John and Mary, settled in St. Mary's County, Maryland briefly, and in 1652 in what was then Northumberland County, afterwards Westmoreland County, Virginia.

1649 John Earle (abt.1614-1660) John Earle, with his wife Mary and three English-born children, Samuel, John and Mary, settled first in St. Mary's Co., Md., and a little later in Northumberland Co., Va., giving rise to what is known as the Virginia Earles, sometimes called the South Carolina Earles.
