This is part of a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about the Kinsman surname and the variants of that name. This section of the Kinsman Name Study is intended for all the bearers of the surname Kinsman who descend from the families of Kinsman originating in Devon but who have not yet been grouped with the larger families of Kinsman from Totnes, Tavistock or Barnstaple.
They probably link to one of these groups, or perhaps even to a Kingman group with a name change on relocation, but have no certain information as yet to propose such links.
There is a y-DNA project dedicated to the Kinsman surname, details of which can be found on the Kin(g)(s)man Family website. There are currently no y-DNA donors in this Devon Kinsman line.
