A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a monarch or other political leader for service to the monarch or country, especially in a military capacity. Initially conferred on mounted warriors they are now conferred, by Monarchies, on any class of individual.

Many nations award knighthood through Orders of Chivalry.

For United Kingdom, and its predecessors, see British Orders of Chivalry

When attributing to this Category please seek the lowest level applicable category. If a person was granted knighthood through The Most Noble Order of the Garter, for example, please attribute the Profile to that category: In this example The Most Noble Order of the Garter.
