This county was called Comaromiensis Comitatus in Latin, Komárom Vármegye in Hungarian, Komorner Gespannschaft in German and Komaromská Stolica in Slovak. It had 132,281 inhabitants in 1828. It was divided into northern and southern parts by the River Danube. After 1918, the area north of the Danube, including most of the town of Komárom became part of Slovakia.
