Lancaster, New York Lancaster is a town in Erie County, New York, USA, located a short distance east of Buffalo. As of the 2010 census, the town population was 41,604.

Located within the Town of Lancaster is a village, also called Lancaster, and the eastern half of the Village of Depew. The western half of Depew lies within the Town of Cheektowaga.

This page will serve as a "portal" for the "one place" study of the town. The goal is to tie together not just the people who have lived in the town, but the complete history of the town.

This study is meant to be a collaborative work in progress, where the people of the Lancaster today will not only find some significant piece of history that might be of interest to them, but share their own treasured memories with others.
