Category: Licensed Professional Engineers, Civil Engineering
In the United States, engineering licenses are issued by each state, which may have slightly varying requirements. Minimum requirements include: obtaining an engineering degree from an accredited university, working in the field a minimum of 4 years under the supervision of a licensed engineer, and passing two rigorous competency engineering exams. Administration of the exams is overseen by the National Society of Professional Engineers. To retain their licenses, Professional Engineers must continually maintain and update their skills through out their careers.
The category includes engineers with inactive licenses.
