Louisiana Territory, 1805–1812

Louisiana Territory was an organized incorporated territory of the United States, north of the Orleans Territory (which would become the state of Louisiana) from July 4, 1805, to June 4, 1812, when it was renamed Missouri Territory. It was formed out of part of the lands acquired by the United States in the Louisiana Purchase.
