Mâcon (French pronunciation: ​[ma.kɔ̃]) is a small city (commune) in east-central France. It is the prefecture of the department of Saône-et-Loire, located in Burgundy. Mâcon is home to over 35,000 residents, who are referred to in French as Mâconnais. This is also the name of the arrondissement of which Mâcon is the seat, or chef-lieu.
