Please use the name of the town on the island to categorize profiles.

Martha's Vineyard is an island (including the smaller Chappaquiddick Island) located south of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. It is a part of Dukes County and consists of the towns of Aquinnah, Chilmark, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury and West Tisbury

Some early documents called the island Martin's Island, there seems to be no explanation of why either name was used and there was no consistent name. Even Mart. Vinyard was in use. After 1700 it is almost always Martha's.
