"The Caribbean island of Martinique is an overseas department/region and single territorial collectivity of France. It is located in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea. One of the Windward Islands, it is directly 81 km (50 miles) north of Saint Lucia, 226 km (140 miles) northwest of Barbados and 49.67 km (30.86 miles) south of Dominica. There are four 'parishes' and some 34 towns with Fort-de-France being its main city."
