The 70 Mile Bush
The Seventy Mile Bush was a heavily forested area in the Wairarapa & southern Hawkes Bay cleared and farmed by Scandinavian settlers recruited by Julius Vogel's Assisted Immigration Scheme
Settlements include Norsewood, Dannevirke, Pahiatua and Eketahuna
The 40 Mile Bush is the southern portion, Masterton to Woodville
