Also known as Poor Clares.

The Poor Clares were founded by Saints Clare of Assisi and Francis of Assisi on Palm Sunday in 1212, and they were the second Franciscan Order to be established.

The observance of Pope Urban is followed by the main branch of the Order (O.S.C.). There have been other branches established who operate under their own unique constitutions:

1410 - Colettine Poor Clares (P.C.C.)
1538 - Capuchin Poor Clares (O.S.C. Cap)
1854 - Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration (P.C.P.A.)
