This Category deals with the Orders of Chivalry, sometimes chivalric order or order of knighthood or equestrian order founded by the inspiration of the Catholic Church in c. 1100 on the basis of the fraternities of the Crusader Military Orders.

Later, in the 15th Century, orders of chivalry, were created by individual Kingdoms. Later, during the 18th century, as some Nations became Republics, these gave rise to the modern-day orders of merit of states.
