The Paralympic Games or Paralympics are an international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities. The Winter and Summer Paralympic Games are each held once every four years in the same year as the Olympic Games. The first Summer Paralympics was held in Rome in 1960 and the first Winter Paralympics in 1976 in Sweden.
