Category: Pennsylvania Mennonite Pioneers Interest Group

Categories: Swiss-German and Mennonite Immigrants to Pennsylvania | Germantown, Pennsylvania

This category is for researchers who are interested in Pennsylvania Anabaptist Pioneers.

I am interested in talking about my Anabaptist ancestors who lived in Germantown and later settled in Montgomery County; both these areas were then in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. The first of these families arrived, I believe, on the ship, Concord, 6 October 1683.

I am especially looking for indiviuals who were born in Europe and who belonged to Anabaptist groups in Germantown or Montgomery County, PA. I would love to hear research questions and suggestions.

I am corresponding by email with a group of people who are DNA cousins and/or whose family trees connect with mine in the Stem, Kuster, and Zimmerman families. I would like to expand this conversation. I am exploring how this interest group on Wikitrees might work to do that.

I have found I have connections to:

Gottshalks/Godshalls
Conrads
Doors
Stamms/Stems
Kusters/Custers

What other families can we talk about?

“The descendants of Paulus and Gertrude Kusters”, Jean M. White, editor, Publ. The Castor Association of America, p. 23-24 quotes “the 1691 petition of naturalization.
