Québec is a province in east-central Canada. It is the only province in Canada that is predominantly French-speaking, and has French as its only official language. It is the largest province (though the territory of Nunavut is larger), and the second most populous province after Ontario.
Québec was one of the first four provinces that were created at Confederation on 1 July 1867, along with Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.
