Information from Wikipedia: The North American A-5 Vigilante was a carrier-based supersonic bomber designed and built by North American Aviation for the U.S. Navy. It saw extensive service during the Vietnam War in the tactical strike reconnaissance role. Its previous designation was A3J Vigilante.

At the time of its introduction, the Vigilante was one of the largest and by far the most complex aircraft to operate from a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier. It was very fast at both high and low altitudes. The RA-5C was the reconnaissance version of the Vigilante.

Variants: The original A3J-1 became A-5A. The A3J-2 became A-5B (an updated design). The A3J-3P became RA-5C (The reconnaissance version).
