"The Caribbean islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are an Island State country in the West Indies within the Caribbean Sea and part of the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles. Some 76 km (47 miles) to the north of Saint Vincent lies Saint Lucia, 179 km (111 miles) to the east is Barbados, and Grenada lies 136 km (85 miles) to the south. It has six parishes (five on Saint Vincent and the sixth is made up of the Grenadine islands). Its capital Kingstown is located in the parish of Saint George.
