Shape note singing is a tradition of non-denominational community singing that originated in 18th century New England singing schools, and was perpetuated in the American South before it spread internationally.

This category is suitable for composers, lyricists, compilers, publishers, scholars, teachers, and prominent singers of shape-note music, particularly those who are not primarily associated with The Sacred Harp, (q.v.)
