Main page: Spindletop Scam

The Spindletop oil field and related oil boom in Texas have been the source of a number of genealogical frauds perpetrated by people claiming to be heirs to a share of the ownership of the oil field and fraudsters who bilked would-be claimants by convincing them they had a claim to an oil fortune through a link to an ancestor they weren't previously aware of.

This category is a location to identify the profiles of people whose biographies and family histories have been affected (or in some cases may have been affected) by Spindletop-related frauds. "Affected" is the operative word -- listing in this category does NOT mean that the profile itself is fraudulent; hopefully it is listed because the fabrication has been identified and corrected.
