Staffordshire is a landlocked county in the midlands of England, centred on the county town of Stafford. It has two major conurbations; to the south is the "Black Country" including the towns of Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton; and to the north is the "Potteries" including Stoke, Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Longton and Fenton. The only historic city in the county is Lichfield.
