Battle of the Alamo

THIS IS PART OF US SOUTHERN PROJECT- all profiles within the Alamo are part of the US Southern Project regardless of where they were born. They came to the Texas colony (formerly, the Province of Texas, New Spain) to help free Texas Settlers from what the Texians felt was oppression by the Mexican Government.)

Note: Currently there are over 200 profiles ( 189 Profiles in this Category, 187 were killed in the Battle of the Alamo, and 25 messengers/couriers as well as a few womennon-combatants. Texas is still proving/disproving defenders in ongoing research..

The Battle of the Alamo occured on March 6, 1836. It followed the 13-day Siege of the Alamo (February 23, 1836 - March 5, 1836). On March 6, 1836 Defenders in the ALAMO were killed with the exception of 1 who left the Alamo, 1 Mexican man who convinced the Mexican army that he was a hostage, and 1 slave wounded, but survived.

Tejanos , Texians, Americans, and European immigrants - were present on Feb 23, 1836 to fight the Mexican government armies for the freedom of the settlers of Texas. 187 men Tejanos , Texians, Americans, and European immigrants}} THE DEFENDERS WERE KILLED in the Alamo by the Mexican Army led by General Santa Anna (and all have Wiki Tree Profiles)..

32 men. Immortal 32: Texians, Americans, and European immigrants were the Immortal 32 of Gonzales colony were the only men who came to the Defenders' Aid. All were killed.

Couriers/messengers passed in and out of the Alamo trying to find more men to help the besieged Defenders and supplies...Couriers away at the time, 1 slave survived and some women/children survived. They are are listed also. The total should be over 200
