The Underground Railroad

Wikipedia Underground Railroad

It is entirely possible that Ohio had the most extensive Underground Railroad system in the United States. With the Ohio River in the south and Lake Erie in the north, Ohio provided routes that totaled about 3000 miles used by runaways. There were more than twenty points of entry on the Ohio River, and as many as ten exit points along Lake Erie.
