The Clipper ship Underley
Built: at Lancaster, by the Lime Ship Building Company in about 1866
Size: Her length is 215 feet, beam 37 feet, depth of hold 32 feet.
Owners: Under charter to the White Star Line.
Demise: In September 1871, the Underley, a 1,292-ton iron-hulled sailing ship, ran aground in a strong gale at the point between Monk's Bay and Steel Bay on the Isle of Wight off the English south coast.
