- This haplogroup is named for the SNP (single nucultide polymophism) that defines the node.
- The SNP L562 (also known as S213 and temporarily as Z50) is on the Yp11.2 band at position (GRCh37) 9790893 with a mutation of G -> A for positive.
- The relationship of SNP L562 seems to be well estabished for most upstream SNPs. The relationship to the Z51 and S211 SNPs does not seem to be solidly establish. See phylogeny.
- Origin
- Identifaction of the L562 SNP may be attributed to Thomas Krahn using 1000 Genomes Project data about 2011. The L in the name is in honor of Leo Little.
