Genealogically Defined

Early Years

Irva was born about 1883. [1] She was the daughter of George Cater and Rhoena French.
Irva was a mother and a homemaker in Alstead, New Hampshire

Marriage & Family

She was about 26 years old when she married George Edward Porter (1875-1943), a young farmer in Alstead, in 1908. The Rev. F L Leavitt performed the ceremony. She and George had one son, Charles Elbert Porter (1912-1978), born in Alstead in 1912.[2]
George passed away from cancer on the 6th of September in 1943.

Death & Burial

She, herself, passed away at the Rockingham Hospital in Bellows Falls, Vermont from parenchymatous-nephritis, complicated by her underlying organic heart disease..[3]
NOTE: parenchymatous-nephritis is an inflammatory process involving all the kidney structures.
She was laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Alstead, New Hampshire.[4]
