Ollie Ralph Cates was born March 9, 1920. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]} He was the son of Will M Cates. ^{[2] [11]}

Ralph married Wilma Ruth Herring October 11, 1941 in Harmon County, Oklahoma. ^[13] They later divorced on September 13, 1973 in Harris County, Texas. ^[14]

Ralph and Wilma Ruth (Herring) Cates had Marcia Rhea Cates born March 25, 1943 in Oklahoma and died April 15, 1974 in Houston, Harris, Texas; ^[15] Brenda Leah Cates born in about 1951 in Harris County, Texas; ^[16] and Kathleen Cates born in about December 1952 in Harris County, Texas. ^[17]

Ralph married Wanda E Huff March 22, 1974 in Fort Bend, Texas. ^[18]

He passed away December 6, 1986 and was laid to rest at Olustee Cemetery, Olustee, Jackson, Oklahoma. ^{[19] [20]}
