Biography

Catherine Catoir was born on 26 May 1758, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Antoine Catoir and Marie Catherin Coulerette. [1]

She married Charles Vige probably about 1775 (based on birth of their known oldest child in 1777) [2] in St Martinville, Louisiana. [citation needed]

They had ten children in 22 years. Their children were baptized at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.

She died by about October 1835, when her succession was filed at the Opelousas courthouse, having lived a long life of 77 years.[3]
