Biography

Sarah (Catt) Hidder was born in Sussex, England.

Sarah Catt was born about 1660 and christened on 17th August 1660 at St. James & St. Mark Church in the Parish of Ewhurst, Sussex. She was the daughter of Stephen Catt and Ann Unknown.^{[1] [2]}

Sarah was mentioned in her father's will. Stephen Catt made a will in 1681 and in it he stated "I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah wife of John Ridder ten pounds of lawful of England to be paid unto her within two years next after my decease".

Sarah Catt married John Hidder on 8th July 1679 at Battle, Sussex, England. ^[3] While the marriage record is in the name Hinder, the image on Ancestry (transcript) clearly shows Hidder.

Research Notes

Sarah's married name is in doubt and it may appear as Ridder, Hidder, Hinder or something similar.
