Biography

Andrew was born in August 1871 in Virginia.^[1] He was the son of Calvin C. Caudill and Sarah Ann Jones.^[2]

In 1900, he was living in Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio, working as a barkeeper for Lena Reichard and her brother Henry Reichard, saloon keepers.^[1] Five years later, on 17 May 1905, he married Anna Bach,^[3] widow of a Mr. Reichard. The connection between Anna's first husband and the 1900 saloon keepers is not known at present.

In 1910, Andrew was working as a saloon keeper in Miamisburg and his household included his wife Anna, her daughter, Louise Reichard, born about 1899, and Andrew and Anna's son Edgar Caudill, born about 1906.^[4] In 1920, step-daughter Louise was no longer living with them and their household included brother-in-law, Martin Bach, as well as an additional child, daughter Dorothy, born about 1913.^[5] Andrew's wife Anna died on 26 July 1920, shortly after the census was taken.^[6] Perhaps this prompted his move to New York, where he was married for a second time on 3 January 1927 in Seneca County, New York, to Katherine Eva Howder.^[7]

Andrew and Katherine were living in Waterloo, Seneca County, New York in 1930.^[8] He most likely died after 1930, as he has not been found in subsequent census records.
