Elizabeth is mentioned in her husband's will dated 20 June 1516. The residue of the estate was left to "Elizabeth my wife and my son John", who were executors. [1] After her husband's death, she retired to a nunnery; a licence was granted on 28 November 1516 to "Richard, Bishop of Negropont, to veil Elizabeth, widow of John Bradford of Heath, Parish of Warmfield".[2][3]
Research Notes
Elizabeth may have been a relative of William Calverley, whose will signed 12 April 1488 has a John Bradford as one of the feoffees.[4] As she had two married daughters by 1516, she must have been married before 1500.
