He went to St Petersburg, Russia,[1] where his family had a merchant firm.[4]
He married Anne Prescott at the British Chapel, St Petersburg, Russia on 25 May 1774.[1] They had one child:
Cornelius, born on 10 January 1776, baptised at the British Chapel, St Petersburg the next day, died on 8 September 1776[1]
George died at Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire according to the Gentleman's Magazine[5] and at Beverley, Yorkshire according to Joseph Foster.[1] He was buried at Holy Trinity, Hull on 16 January 1790.[6]
