Biography

Edward Stillingfleet Cayley was born on 13 August 1802 and baptised on 14 August that year at Brompton by Sawdon, Yorkshire, England. He was educated at Rugby School and Brasenose College, Oxford. On 30 August 1823 he married his cousin Emma Cayley.

From 1832 to his death in 1862 he was MP for the North Riding of Yorkshire, serving as an Independent.
