Herbert Cayley was born in Yorkshire, England.

Biography

Herbert was born in 1874. He was the son of Digby Cayley and Charlotte Bower. He was baptised at Malton, Yorkshire, England. In 1881 he is recorded at Brompton by Sawdon, Yorkshire, England.[1] He joined the Royal Navy: in August 1897 he was a Lieutenant on HMS Plover[2] and in the 1901 Census records him as a Royal Naval Officer on a ship off Hampshire.[3] He passed away in Kinshasa, Northern Rhodesia in 1907.
