Ivy was born in 1903. She was the daughter of George Cayley and Cecil Jones. In September 1934 her engagement was announced to James Carew O'Gorman Anderson, widower, whose first wife was the novelist Stella Benson and who was the only surviving son of Brigadier-General Sir Francis Anderson of Ballydavid, County Waterford.[1] The marriage never took place and she passed away, unmarried, in 1936.[2]
